Why I Love Sitetracker
Why I Love Sitetracker?
Have you ever heard anyone say project management is easy. Me neither. It’s extremely challenging even on a good day. After a rather grueling project I wanted to know if there was a solution out there that was the next stage of PM for high volume, complex installations and deployments that have overlapping projects and systems. Let me introduce you to Sitetracker.
Why do I love Sitetracker? Because it’s built on Salesforce and optimizes the entire asset lifecycle with built in AI, automation and actionable analytics. It’s a smart, robust forward thinking tool that, like Youreka, covers a big gap in work execution. I was introduced to Sitetracker with an Energy & Utilities client who needed to standardize new site builds, track project activities and resource teams and maintenance inspections to name just a few. I was tasked with the overview of the tool, the cons, pros and messaging. While it’s on the pricier side, if used correctly and with intention small to medium sized companies will get their money’s worth.
If you have read my previous articles you know I’m ‘The Data Guy’ who stresses to clients that their ‘data is a key asset’ in their company like the products and services that they sell. To attain great data the client needs to build the mindset to develop a great relationship with their field assets. I also discuss downstream and upstream process execution to gather analytics for predictive modeling and AI modeling in my AI Series, so you can see why I am so interested in this platform. Sitetracker is a tool that can standardize data input with built in best practices and forms, automated actions based on historical performance, and auto-update milestone data fields with scheduling logic. This is to name but a few functions that drive the value and I’m not even covering IoT or AI here.
Along with all its functional offerings, Sitetracker has a special function that drives the process. Project Templates. Have you seen the new auto charging sites popping up lately in buildings and along roadways. Ever wonder how they execute on these sites? They templatize the project. If a new project site comes available, they plug in the numbers and spin up a new project immediately with all the scheduling, activities, actions and milestones in place. Once the project is set up, Sitetracker allows teams to track these activities and resources across multiple projects with inventory insights and forecasting logic. I make this seem simple, its not. It’s a beast and it gets the job done.
The list of clients is also impressive from AT&T, COX, TEKsystems, Honeywell, Verizon, Next and the list goes on and on.
For anyone that has used and customized Salesforce Project Work Plans and used any project management tools while trying to gain visibility and measure performance, this should get your interest. Even if you don’t use this for your clients, it’s good to see what is out there. Explore their nicely designed and informative site and let me know what you think.
