Why I Love Techsee

This year I had a couple of opportunities to position products that provide visual clarity for Field Service teams working in the utilities space. The scenario was that some of the key long standing highly skilled and experienced techs were retiring from the field as they did not want to continue with the work requirements which included extensive traveling, lifting and long hours on their feet. Neither company could afford to let these people go as it would impact the quality and standards of the work as well as the knowledge transfer to the junior techs.

So what did they do? They made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. They allowed them to work remotely and provide real-time oversight of the techs in the field. Each senior tech would manage a certain number of junior techs to ensure the Company knowledge, training, execution and professionalism was upheld. It was a win-win! One senior tech could apply their knowledge across the entire organization. Biweekly senior teams would come together as a team to share experiences, technology lessons, training applications and update the standards of the remote operations and to review the level and quality of the data that was being collected. They would work with management to apply lessons learned to the Company’s processes and standards and knowledge base.

Guess what they decided to use to apply the visuals? You nailed it smarty pants. TechSee! As an added action for streamlining the data input in the field, they leveraged Dynamic Checklists (ie. Yeureka) and began their journey to predictive modeling with new data modeling designs.

Why do I love TechSee? I chose TechSee specifically because of the value and gap it fills in the market space for Field Service. It truly is the ‘Power of Visuals’ to cut through the confusion, anxiety and noise. Not only are techs able to share their experience they can also record the images or videos and apply it to the customer for clarity on work accomplished and to the knowledge of the teams for future issues. Now just image adding AI into the mix. I’ll cover that later as I can only cover one use case here but check out the Youtube for a quick glance at this amazing Augmented Reality tool:
