Why I love Youreka?
Has anyone ever had to design and build out custom dynamic checklists for field techs. I have had to do it twice. Was it fun. No. It was a painful process and building it to be flexible enough to handle the ongoing industry changes and requirements needed to function properly required maintenance. Expensive and very skilled maintenance.
You might ask why on earth I decided to build a dynamic checklist from scratch. Well, the client had a couple of particular use cases related to new compliance standards and did not want to buy a robust platform to just do, say, a compliance safety checklist at an asset site. It works great for them and they are now meeting all compliance standards, but why buy a bull to do a foxes function? I’ll tell you why. Youreka!
Why do I love Youreka? Because they are just so dang good or to quote Shakespeare as I rarely have the privilege, “I love thee …with my childhood’s faith” that there is a team of people that felt our pain and took their childish curiosity and courage to build something cool so that I would have the option to provide a robust tool for all occasions to my clients. Yes its pricey, yes it’s robust but the value, priceless. It has a smooth look and feel with a nice interface and drag and drop functionality. It’s a good looking tool.
Now that said, the primary Industries are as follows: Healthcare, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Public Sector and my favorite, Utilities – so I can’t state “all occasions”, but with its robust platform I can say, most. Smaller and medium companies as well as specific use cases will continue to use OOB Salesforce Dynamic Forms and custom dynamic forms but now we all have a vision to aim for.
Why am I so passionate about Dynamic Checklist? It’s my experience watching companies adopt these powerful flows to standardize on data input in real time with huge results. I have seen data go from half written abbreviations on paper hurriedly collected at the end of the day to data collected in real time that could be used to drive real time decisions and predictive models. Compliance records being met and data quality improving dramatically. Enough to begin forecasting crews and leveraging Work Types. Big stuff. Big value. Big accountability for management. Big improvement in downstream and upstream Work Order executions.
There is also the case of Safety Checks. Huge improvements in field techs safety and having the company meet new compliance standards and guidelines that impact metrics of success. No easy task but with Youreka, it’s a green light.
Just a quick note to all the hidden value that is baked into the best practices that we aren’t able to see or report. Some things we just can’t measure like a customer’s trust, giving field techs access to better data and better knowledge, better predictive models driving work orders for clarity on execution, the list goes on and on. Don’t underestimate the power of these forms. They are the gem of our workforce. Now get our there and make a difference.
